Sole Mates: The Musical is a 100% original new musical about a lost sock
named Osckar desperately searching for his/her/their match. With the
help of other inhabitants of the Laundry Room, Osckar goes on an
adventure around the room and deep inside the walls to face off and
battle the evil Sockrates, who has been sockrificing articles of clothing to
the Washer and Dryer gods. Full of characters like Mark (a stained pair of underwear), Kal and Laken (two matched ankle socks), Dee Dee (a
motherly and supportive bra), and more, Osckar learns about love, loss, and making the ultimate sockrifice. The show is Shrek meets Avenue Q: school edition (PG) with jokes and innuendo for adults and children alike and explores issues of bullying, acceptance, identity, and more in a deeply heartfelt and comedic way from the moment we meet Osckar to the Pixar-esque bittersweet, yet boundlessly optimistic ending. Almost every song in the show is a different genre of music, from the 80s power-ballad "Hung Out To Dry" to the pop-punk melodies of the Act I closer, "Sockblocked". From funk to gospel to punk rock and rap, this show has something for
everyone.

Mark Twain's only play, Is He Dead?, is about a fictional painter who fakes his own death to achieve fame and fortune, and was only published and performed long after Twain's death. The play, written in 1898, was discovered in archives and first performed in 2007, making it a posthumous success. The story follows Jean-François Millet, who fakes his death to escape debt and become famous, pretending to be his own sister, the "Widow Tillou," while his paintings sell for high prices.

In the 1880’s, young Nellie Cashman welcomes a renowned troupe of Shakespearean actors to her Tombstone log cabin. As an evening of song, music, dance, stories and drink continues, we travel through the memories of each celebrant to learn their past, their present and finally, their future. Each character is a rebel…political, social, gender, class and culture. They are bound by their roots and their affection for each other. Political, love and cultural Irish songs are sung and set dances are enjoyed with live music.

October 2026 - dates and times TBA
Montague Rhodes James was a scholar as well as a don and provost at Kings College, Cambridge and Eton. He was an incredible spinner of ghostly tales which he regaled his students with on Christmas Eve and has had numerous volumes of his stories published.
Adapting his chilling stories into plays has been a joyful endeavour and A3G is delighted to present some of his most famous tales in playlet form. Being adapted, at this time, are Oh, Whistle, and I'll Come to You, My Lad and A Warning To The Curious with a possible third story included.
These stories are suspenseful, spooky and saucy and just the ticket for our Shocktober offering.
Stephen King, H.P. Lovecraft and Clive Barker are/were keen fans of M.R. James. James, himself, was a devotée of Shakespeare, Dickens, Christie and Wodehouse. He was not a fan of James Joyce.
